If you’re a pet owner and you’ve ever tried to get your animals to sit still for a family photo, you know the struggle. No matter what kind of animal you have, taking a good picture can be nearly impossible. Just ask this owner of eight kittens!
At around 7-10 days after birth, kittens open their eyes for the very first time. At this point, their vision is still blurry, since the retina in the eye is not yet fully developed. One of the more surprising kitten facts is that although after a few weeks the kittens will be able to focus well, they don’t develop eyesight equivalent to an adult cat until around 10 weeks after birth. During this period, their hearing is also developing, and their legs are becoming strong enough to begin holding weight. When a kitten does take its first steps, it learns quickly, and after just a few days will be scampering and climbing all over the house!
In the video below, Evgeny Mishukov sets his eight kittens down in a row but has no idea what he is in for.
As he sets each fluffy baby up to face the camera, another one walks away or turns around. He races to get all eight kittens facing forward and sitting still, but these rowdy critters refuse to cooperate with their owner.
The family photo is this man’s most difficult task of the moment. He almost has them all in a line for a second, but it quickly warps into a jumbled mess of fur.
No matter how hard he tries to pose his eight kittens for the family photo, at least one or two of them decides not to pay attention, tries to escape, or tries to explore the gap underneath the couch.
Eventually, Evgeny decides it’s no use. His kittens don’t seem too eager to take a wholesome family photo and would rather be anywhere else.
Finally, he walks away and lets his pets do as they please.
